The 2012 Guatemala Volcano Challenge - APPLY NOW

Following the hugely successful Challenges in 2010 and 2011, we will be organising the next challenge for January 2012.

Although the route is yet to be determined, it is sure to take in the stunning geography and history of Guatemala. What sets this challenge apart from other similar treks is that you will also be spending some days in the school where the Education for the Children Foundation (EFTC) takes 510 of the town's slum kids and provides them with food, safe housing and full-time education in an attempt to break the cycle of poverty which blights so many families' lives there.

During your time at the school, you'll become part of the team - teaching English, PE and IT perhaps? Or even cooking lunch in the new kitchen and handing the only hot meal of the day to over 500 hungry kids. You'll soon come to realise that all the kids want is a loving friend, even if it is only for a few hours that week. You'll be escorted into the hills overlooking Jocetenango to see first hand the awful living conditions that the kids hail from, meet their families and discuss ways in which EFTC are helping the wider community as well as the children fighting for a brighter future.

What we have found is that nobody who visits is likely to walk away and do nothing for EFTC again - it really is a lifetime experience and you'll realise what a difference you can make to so many lives - childrens' lives who desperately need your help and your love.

Why not just find out more about it now? Places are strictly limited and you're urged to sign up sooner rather than later in order that you have sufficient time to raise the £2,000 target in good time.
