2014 Boxing Challenge

We are now entering our 6th year of the Jersey white collar boxing and we are looking to make this one even bigger and better than previous years. To date we have donated over £95,000 to local charities and have had 102 willing white collar boxers step through those ropes and take part in an experience they will never forget.

Living The Dream

Le Tournoi is proud to have been chosen as a joint beneficiary of the Jersey White Collar Boxing event, which takes place annually in the island. Having started in 2008, WBC is the brainchild of Ben and Allan Murray who formed Boxin Business to cater for the growing popularity of boxing as a form of fitness training and the desire of many everyday men to enter the ring.

Widely regarded as one of the best corporate evenings of the year, up to 600 fans cram into Hotel de France’s Great Hall to see their colleagues, friends and family square up after months of training and live the dream of a big-night fight. It’s all there – the lights, the smoke, the music and the adrenaline.

This year, two of our committee have risen to the challenge and will be donning their gloves to raise funds. Vice-Chairman John Hanley and Kevin McDermott have sacrificed months of the easy life to get themselves into fine fettle for their big occasion. Already having raised thousands, they are still after your cash so please dig deep and donate, as every penny helps.

The BoxInBusiness Gym was opened in 2010. This is where the white collar workers go through their 10 week boxing training camp prior to their big night of boxing. However, this gym is not only open to people wishing to do the white collar event. Non-contact boxing fitness classes are also run for males, females and the very popular Lads, Dads and Lasses class, where parents get the chance to train alongside their children. The fun and friendly atmosphere is guaranteed to help you towards your fitness goals.

Boxing is not only a great way to increase fitness levels and weight loss; its also teaches respect, discipline and improves self confidence. The gym caters for everyone from experienced boxers to people who have never put on boxing gloves before as every session is tailored to an individual's needs.

Classes are held at Fort Regent.
