 RESULTS

Congratulations to 365 Tickets for regaining their crown which was temporarily relinquished to HSBC last year. Unfortunately we don't have a pic of the winning squad yet! They beat Evergreen in the final by the only goal of the match.

Squad Rules

The event is predominantly a corporate challenge, and to maintain the spirit of this, we do insist that SIX out of a maximum squad of TEN are employed by the named company as at the start of the Challenge. Each squad will need to provide the following in order for their entry to be confirmed:

  1. Cheque/cash for £350, made payable to "Le Tournoi" - please make sure that this is sent to Le Tournoi Charity Sports, 2 Millais Park, Mont Millais, St Helier, JE2 4RU, as soon as possible but to arrive by no later than Monday 17th May 2010
  2. Entry form, duly completed to detail each member of your squad, including their WORK e-MAIL ADDRESS. This is used to validate the squad composition
  3. Photocopies of proof of identification for each squad member - either the photo section of a passport, or copy of a driving licence

The team sheets require the name and e-mail of each squad member. There are also two columns for player signatures - PLEASE ENSURE THAT PLAYERS SIGN ONCE FOR THE SATURDAY AND THEN AGAIN ON THE SUNDAY MORNING

Please do not seek to flaunt this ringer rule - if we don't notice then it is highly likely that another team will notice and we will have no hesitation to disqualify any entry without recourse.

Your squad cannot change from the Saturday to the Sunday but adding players to a depleted squad from Saturday is permitted (ie if you can only get 8 players for the Saturday, you can add two more for Sunday)

Trophies

Awards are supplied by Hanover House UK Limited (www.hanoverhouseuk.com), who supply trophies for all Le Tournoi events. Both the Championship and the Plate carry perpetual awards, and also individual awards for up to ten players in the winning and losing finalists.

Other Points to Note

GENERAL CONDUCT

Above all else, please bear in mind at all times that this is a charity event, and Jersey's biggest soccer challenge. With hundreds of kids, ladies, UK guests, officials from Umbro, the PFA, local government and charities present throughout the weekend, you and your teammates are asked to maintain the highest levels of conduct, both on and off the pitch.

We have been blessed in recent years by exemplary behaviour and receive countless comments on the fantastic spirit in which the event is played. We have worked hard for nine years to get where we are and as a result are not very tolerant of any conduct which would jeopardise this proud standard.

SPECTATORS

Le Tournoi is very much about energising your work colleagues to either participate or to support the participants and we actively encourage and welcome as many colleagues and family up to the event as possible. You are welcome to erect gazebos, put up corporate banners, flags etc and to enjoy picnics, alcohol and small barbeques. Please however respect the general environment and make sure you leave the venue in the same condition litter-wise as you found it (see below....)

EQUIPMENT

Each year, we spend a small fortune on equipment - over 400 footballs and other related kit such as bibs, cones. At the end of the weekend, all of this kit is donated to (1) The Jersey Sports Association for the Disabled and (2) Community Sport Development, led by David Kennedy. Their need is greater than anyone else's, yet each year we 'lose' hundreds of balls and lots of the other kit. Our kit is all provided through Umbro and is easily distinguishable - please do not take it if you didn't arrive with it, as you will be depriving our good causes of much-needed training and development opportunities

CAR PARKING

The Soccer Challenge is one of the biggest events to take place at Les Quennevais each year. The sheer volume of cars can cause issues with other users of the sports hall, and also local residents, who have very little patience with visiting traffic. The groundstaff are kind enough to section off a large part of the playing fields for our traffic and we urge every team captain to communicate to their squad that this is the best place to park over the weekend. Under no circumstances should anyone park along the road adjacent to the swimming pool or in the main car park outside the sports hall. Please drive carefully when inside the cycle track as it will remain open to cyclists throughout the Soccer Challenge

LITTER

Every year, litter is a headache which we do not need at the end of two extremely busy days. Please please please appreciate that someone has to tidy up, and if teams do not take their litter and general debris to one of the plentiful dustbins. We have to leave the site in exactly the same condition as we found it, which means every banana skin, water bottle, half-eaten burger and whatever else, has to be collected from acres of playing fields.

IT ONLY TAKES A FEW MOMENTS - PLEASE TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR SQUAD, IT IS MUCH APPRECIATED
